I'm going to college soon in New England, and I'm going to get a car. I've really got my eye on either the 2000 Toyota Solora convertible or the 1998 Mustang convertible.

I've never owned a convertible before and I'm wondering they're too fragile for the New England winters (I'm from Los Angeles, so I've never driven in the snow). Will I get very cold, even with the top up? Do you think they are any more cold in the snow/rain/wind than hardtops?

Yes they are a little bit cooler in the winter but if you're not used to driving in the snow, I would say get the front wheel drive solara, as much as I like mustangs, you need studded snows and about 300 pounds of weight in the trunk to get around good.
