305 in Bonneville

Hi there. my friend has a 93 bonneville with a blown motor. some1 has offered him a 1988 trans am 305 V8. just one question... Will this engine fit in the boneville?? Let me know. Thanks.

i doubt it because the 305 was never installed
in a fwd from the factory. but anythings possible
the 305 may also have a different bellhousing bolt pattern and then wouldn't fit to the transaxle

it would work if your friend had an '83 bonneville because those were still rwd and even had the 305 as an option

heh..... you could remove the body of the bonneville and drop it onto a Vega frame, then tub out the floor pan to fit the trans.... you could then run a 305 V8 and make it rear wheel drive :)
