when i recieved the car..it needed a new head gasket.before i put the new gasket on i had the head completely rebuilt and shaved..the engine had no wear for having 190000 miles on it beceause the only other owner was an old lady.everything is back together like i said..the engine turns over and everyhting but it wont start...i might be able to use this as an excuse to get a swap but i want to try and see if this motor will work first..i was told to check the fuses and fuel filter and all of that is good so now im up in here.

does it make spark at the plugs?
is it getting fuel?
is it making compression?
A few details are needed before good advice can be given....

a bad timing belt could stop compression, take a spark plug out, hold your thumb over the hole, get buddy to spin engine, should create huge rush of air whoosh out.

the plug holes are a bit too deep to pull the ol' put your finger over the hole trick on these motors... get/borrow a compression tester and see what you find... do all 4 cylinders
also note: just because you are getting fuel does not mean you are getting the right amount of fuel, you could have a bum sensor somewhere and not even realize. were you careful when taking out and reinstalling all of the sensors? you can't slam them around too hard or they could break on you and sadly enough nearly every time a sensor breaks it is in a way where you can't just look at it and know it is broken

Check to see if the plugs are in the correct firing order? You never know...besides how old are the plug wires? One could be split. whoever said it could have jumped time could be VERY right. With 190,000 miles who knows when the belt was replaced.. It very well could.
