Hey guys...I just registered....I'm a member from maxima.org but I have been banned or suspended...i don't even know because some of the mods over there are such a-holes that they don't even say anything...
I got banned/suspended for asking why a friend of mine was banned... then some guy starts flaming me and I tell him what I think about him and next day I can't log in. NO warning no e-mail, nothing at all.....
Anyway, I am addicted to the .org but it's becoming a flame war day after day over there. and the mods think they can do whatever they feel like doing......
I have spent some time here today and looked through some of the threads and it seems like you guys maybe don't have as much info as the .org but you sure treat people the way it should be on a forum....
anyway, I just wanted to say what's up and I'll be hanging around here more often now.
Sam

Welcome bro, we are glad to have you aboard. The org can ban you whenever they feel but you'll get slammed for real over there if you cuss or slander the wrong person.
Over here it is pretty lenient and you can get away with a little bit more because the mod here is down to earth. If you don't post enough over at the org you're account will be shutdown but you won't get banned.
Flaming over there against certain "Blessed, above the law individuals" can get you kicked to the curb. Be warned though there has been at least one individual that I know of that has gotten banned over here, so it can happen but you have to be doing some major flaming for it to happen.
Anyway, we don't mind if you talk about street racing or bash on other brands but just do it within the context and everyone will be cool with it.
We've had our differences over here as well but overall everyone here is pretty damn cool and no one seems to harbor a grudge for longer than 3 months.
Looking forward to your posts.

thanks....don't get me wrong though...i don't flame anyone... i'm not the kind....but when I make a comment that makes sense and some dude comes off and says....he's asking about his friend because he's gay and he loves him.....i had to reply to that....and it got me banned...... whatever though......
i just broke a 1000 posts on there the other day too.... one of the mods said it's just a week suspension, but i'm starting to like this place... i just hate not having my private messages because there's many people that i have become real friendly with over there....

Welcome to the forum "maxed"! I'm fairly new to this particular forum myself, and so far so good. It's kinda dead during the day, not that many people posting during work I guess. I keep the window minimized on my desktop and 4-5 hours can pass without any replies or new posts, but otherwise it's ok.
Still haven't checked out the org yet, but have heard alot about it! Both good and bad.

he deserved it dammit....i mean, uh, yeah, it can happen.
it's funny you mention the butt-holes at the org. there was a thread here talking about how the policies and people here are better but the org is more informational although riddled with assholes(not all of course). i was banned from the org at one point, probably still am. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=114632&highlight=banned.<---That's the thread of when my friend got banned from the org. he eventually got banned over here too and hasnt been seen again since  . get a free juno or hotmail email address to register with and go back as a new member, no biggie.

it's just another way for them to put other people down. if you ask a question that's been asked before they know that 1) you're new and/or 2) you're not a donating member, therefore you "don't care about the overall well-being of the forums" and don't deserve the kind of respect the donating, full-time members get. that's why people over there who are "popular" stay popular and gain brownie points with the mods and attain "untouchable" status and the newbies go there get flamed and never come back.
the thing i don't get is, they are so uptight about asking the same Q's more than once, but then the more respected members just fill up the forums with babble and bullshit. so when you do find a thread pertaining to a question that you have, they expect you to sift through pages and pages of bull shit to find the one post that has the information you're looking for.

they got that right. I could care less for a free public forum that now requires you to donate to get all the previlliges. Anyway, I was gonna donate up up until they disabled the search function.

yeah, me neither. there's no real point in registering cuz you can read all the posts you want without doing so. in most forums the search function is reserved for registered users, but on the org it's for donating members. so unless you want to register just to get flamed for asking a question the only way to avoid getting flamed is to pay for a free public forum and use the search feature. that damn place is ass backwards.

Hi. This is my first post here and I was a fairly regular member over at maxima.org too. I have to admit that I hate the way the mods over there run it. Disabling the search feature was completely asinine as well. The other thing that always bugged me was the treatment you got from the other members if you were not a "donating" member :screwy:. They act like if they gave $20 they owned the place.
I've been reading the posts here and so far I like what I see a lot better. The search feature actually works and this forum doesn't load up at the speed of wood like the org did. I'll be happy here.

Unir, if you don't post over there often enough they will drop you for trolling not because of anything else.< Kinda sucks for the 53rd most frequently used site on the internet.
Just re-register again and you should be fine, that is one of the things I hate about the org, you can get wiped out for damn near anything.
Here you can post once in a blue moon and still comeback 2 years later and have your account.

i go in the .org more often than not.. but to be honest, those people either kiss way too much ass to the guys that have their cars all done up.. or totally flame and degrade the n00bs that ask about fstb or basic questions.. i get by just fine by hanging out in the NE forums with my local friends that we arrange meets in MA and RI.

the problem is that the org is being moderated by a prejudiced moderator. unbeknownst to himself, he's driving the kind of people away that makes automotiveforums.com tick. he simply deletes or locks postings of people he deems inferior or alien to him. an example would be somebody else on the org posting the same friggin thing and nothing happens to that person. So some of my posts got locked cuz i didn't sound so kiss arse enuf. It's been a year and i just found out my signature on the org has been deleted and my handle tagged saying "you should read the faqs" or some variant. the secret police did it? but it's definitely that stick-up-in-the-arse jeff92 guy(the communist mod)...with issues. and so now i know i would've been banned, like you, had i not provided some resource on the VQ35DE motor swap...the bottom line is, stubborn mods are the epitomy of the org's gradual decrease on the basis of free-open postings.
So welcome to automotiveforums bro. Here, the mods are people like you/me and everybody else, that's why i feel more at home here. i wouldn't be surprised at the org banning me after this post here

sam, the org is a place riddled with assholes and asskissers making those assholes feel good abouit themselves. i see their brainwashing tactics have already begun taking their effects on you.
i'm just kidding and i wouldn't really terrorize the org,
There's always gonna be people who are worth while but the overall atmosphere and heirarchy of moderators and long time members being superior to everyone else over there just makes it a bad place to get any real learning done.
the majority of people worth talking to over there are, the cattman guy, who has to be nice to everyone cuz they're all potential customers to him, the guy umnitza, who is also only nice cuz he sells the Demon eye headlight kits. the only people who are nice to everyone are those with little banners in their signature pointing you towards their website so they can sell you stuff.
there are a few nice people though, that y2kevse's a nice guy and icey2k1 also.

75% of those _regular_ visitors of the org have that special attitude against noobs, so i say screw it. Is it useful nowadays? I don't know, so many reposts, I get lost.
One thing I found interesting, people tend to be a little more polite in regional forums. I guess they know that if they screw around with you too much, you might meet them on the street. hehe

that remids me of a meet that i went to last winter.. during the meet thread there was this little jerk mouthing off to this out of state guy that was planning on going.. well, the day of the meet the tough computer bully showed up a few hours late.. when he took a look at the size of the out of state kid.. he didn't get out of his car.. he just hung out inside his car for about 10 minutes and then he might have been boosted 'cause noone even saw his fumes when he took off.

Everybody thinks they're ten feet tall when they get on the net. Then there's the Dues EX, Grand Theft Auto, Splinter Cell factor, warping the minds of 120lb dudes into thinking thier bad ass. All you have to do is roll up some newspaper and say "NO!" while you wack 'em. They'll straighten up. :cwm27:

Why expect a thread about the A-holes over at the org? Most of the people there know that their are a lot of those buttheads over there.
I like going there for some info from time to time but if you aren't a Boosted Guy who runs on a legitimate racetrack and have your slips posted in the Dyno or Track forum plus if you don't have the Technical Expertise to one up the other guy then you aren't going to get a lot of respect.
You can always tell when someone over there that everyone knows (likes, respects) makes a post because everyone and their mommas will jump in just to add their 02.

I have mixed feelings about the org. I appreciate the knowledge thats gained about our cars but the new rules stink for non paying members (email auto response - search feature GONE)
So I thought about donating but after sometime I see that the forum is running no better than months before which makes me wonder what the donation money is being used for ? I do say wonder, because I have no idea how they run things or why the forum operates so poorly. Not really any of my business but does effect if I donate or not.
This is the main reason im not going to donate. I just dont believe that to be a true member we should have to pay ! (I can go to 90 Percent of any other car forums and use their search feature as a guest, but not search my own ? )
I can however drop by the new maxima.org merchandise store and buy numerous items that have maxima.org on it ? I would rather have a better running forum.
I also enjoy this forum as well but do more reading than posting.

Really now.. interesting

You can ban me again, I don't care, but that's not the way to go....read the whole thread and tell me that you disagree with all of it.

why, is there a thread over there about it? i'd like to see what kind of feedback those guys give. i'm sure most of it would be of the flamatory nature but i'm sure it'd strike a chord with at least some people.
and hey org mod, doesn't it feel nice to be able to let out a nice "shit, fuck, fuck, fuck, shit" and not really worry about getting banned?(not that you'd have to worry anyway)
