Moderating is not a 'senior position' at AF.It is a chore that we undertake in order to keep AF running within the user guidelines set down by Igor.Thanks largely to his efforts,we are arguably the largest,most comprehensive,and best car discussion site on the internet.

The site is awesome just the way it is,and we'd like it to stay that way.In order to achieve this,we have to select new mods with the utmost care.Nobody gets to be a mod as of right,and nobody gets to be a mod by constant pestering.Starting threads,making posts,sending PM's or any other form of lobbying on your own behalf will only serve to lessen your chances of being selected.We want people who have AF's interests at heart,not those seeking status,power,or access to the moderator forums.

If we need more mods,we will appoint them based on ability to assist the membership,and maturity of attitude.We don't consider anyone who thinks they will get to be a mod just by bleating.

1/ don't get involved in flamewars
2/make useful and/or amusing posts that comply with the site guidelines

Actually, just to be nice. I've appointed Kicker as the Mod of himself. His first task is to delete some 6,300 odd totally useless posts he's made. Extra credit if he replaces each one with a different haiku about kites.
