So I Ordered My G20

Went into Infiniti Last Fri, ordered a 5Spd Midnight Blue G20, Black Leather, Fog Lights, CD changer, Heated Seats, and every other toy it comes with, the guy called me up yesterday, said since it's manual, its very hard to order and the best he can is a 5spd Crystal Silver, black leather, without the heated seats, everything else it will have, so i settled for it, i paid 22,500 on the dot. Got the HID kid at home waiting already for it, and I'm already visualizing a drop and a body kit perhaps..

Thank you everyone, Um I didnt get the sports package, although i was offered it for the same price. The problem with the sports package for me is the half leather half swade. I'm not too fond of it, I know it's better for gripping during turns, but i just like the plain black leather much better, i think it makes the intirior look sleek. Also I really disklike the Headrests with the whole in them, I like the plain headrests better. I was also reading an earlier post about some kid who discovered a bunch of wires underneath his seat that turned out to be heated seats. Then that evolved into the concept that all late model g20's have heated seats, its just that most are not connected, how true is this?

Most likely, they are all wired for them...but seats themselves that have the heating elements, are probobly installed as separate complete units at the factory. There's little doubt the 5 speed cars are not very common on the lot...I've only seen one other at 3 different dealerships. The blue color is also a difficult one to find to my knowledge.
The silver /black combo is nice...it was my first choice and looks great with dark tinted windows. I settled for a black/black 2001t which was a close second choice along with the blue/black, which I pretty much assumed I wouldn't be able to easily locate fully optioned w/5 speed.

Sounds nice.. so u got heated seats?? can i get after market heaters?

You should put these up in the Classified section, Im sure someone will trade you the touring headrests for the plain ones...

j/k It's this really weird thing where quite a number of G20 owners have experenced "problems" within several months of joining AF.... so just play it cool! *lol*

I cannot wait, the dealer told me that i should get it the 2nd week of Jan only cause it's manual, so it will take longer to get.. How long did it take u guys to get yours?

there is this guy on the forum named hybridamp, he wants the touring model headrests (the ones you have) and he wants to trade someone for his no-hole style g20 headrests.

I took mine home as soon as my signature was on every piece of paper! :D (notice I didn't get to drive it... I just learned manual on this car) But I'm playing w/your mind. ;) I bought my 93 G20 used from a dealer just a little over 3 months ago...

Well, after trading the Dodge Durango for it, I took mine off the used car lot that same afternoon. God, I get much better milage now.....

I was told the Midnight Blue G was a limited edition?

BTW, is there a specific reason that Durangos, Dakotas, Rams & Toyota 4x4's are prone to tailgate every other car on the road?

Yep and had a Dakota too which I sold to my mom, bless her soul....they were both 99's, as for the tailgating issue, I can only speak for the Dakotas/Durangos that had the V-8. Mpg sucked, so drafting is a key issue here. Besides they kick ass, strong, quick with decent handling for trucks. The ride was great, even at 120 mph, but when your only getting 6 mpg at that rate it was hard on the pocket book...

On the deeper issues...well it all started when I was a little boy......<<<to be continued>>>...

As for the G, I love it....cant wait till I get rich and buy an R34....*drooling*

You should take the Sport if it was the same price, bigger rims, LSD...but i hate the 2 tone seats too, i think they just copy that off an IS300? I like the full Leather better...but you got a good deal

Midnight blue wasn't limited - Maui Blue was - made only first month of production - at first they told me less than 100, when I went in for my first service they said less than 50 - so who knows.....

they only made 50 Maui blue...i think they did more than that...that is more rare than most limited production cars F50 (like 300)...if I were to guess how many they made, probably 1000

No way they made 1000 - ever see the US sales numbers of G20s for one month? Thats about HALF of what they sell in one month - you have to figure - that the maui blue they stated was made only in the first month of production - first month of production isn't going to be a huge # of cars because they still have a ton of 2001's to get rid of - so say they made 1500 cars the first month of production - now divide that up into the colors that were available - and the fact that the cincy dealer was the only person in 4 states I tried that ever got one in - and I'd say that they were rare - I've found two other owners on here - but never have seen another one on the road to date - and I drive a lot.....

100 maybe - but thats still high - figure 2 per state - still an awful lot compared to what I was able to find when they came out..... By the time they hit dealer floors you couldn't order them - I wanted a stick but no one anywhere had one, or even a car in maui blue when the dealer searched.....

The G20 just doesn't sell enough period to make a "limited" edition of 1000 - like I said thats half the # of G20s they sell in the states every month on a GOOD month....

Yeah, i agree with you chris...If I dont remember it wrong...i read they sell about 20000 G a year, divide that by 12, about 1700 per month. They make about 8 colors right( something about 8) then it is still 200 color per month on production...So i am guessing now 200 or more...but if they thought the Mauiblue was a good color that would sell and want to attract people to buy G20 with that...they would have produced more

Personally i have seen the Mauiblue like 4-5 times since they came out...dont know if they were the same car

Perhaps CA got a large number of that color - again I found no dealers in KY that had that color- only 1 dealer in ohio, and none in IN or TN. They also did a locate for a 5spd when I bought my car and there were none in the US period - I arrived at the dealer ship 1 day after they got their first maui blue in stock.... There sales guy did say that the blue was very popular - but they could not order any - they just got what they got and that was it - and after they sold mine tons of people wanted one - I had to lay down a large deposit for them to hold it - and they were further pissed off to hear I got the VPP plan because I work @ clarion (meaning they made near nothing on the deal).

Also - lots of people confuse my car with (gag) civic SI's - similar color.......
The came out later with the darker blue also - not the same color though.....

If they made over 200 you'd think I could get touch up paint - 8 months later and I still have no touch up paint - parts guy said they used a completely different manfacuter for the paint and since its a limited # they may never get the paint (hell if they only sold 1 car in that color they'd only need 1 bottle lol and thats HOPING I'd buy it)

Anyways still doubt they made that many in the color - on the lot there was 1 blue vs about 10 silver, a couple of the gold/sand color and about 8 black.......

I'd say it had to be way more than 100.

I know 2 people personally that have one. Plus at least 5 others I've spotted in the local area and highways. This is only in a small area of the state and only one state.

I would say they made around 500.

Yeah i agree with boogie that the number should be more than 100...but less than 1000...anyways that doesnt matter that much...they dont make it anymore so that's it

I really like that color, very sharp...I personally think it looks better on a G20 than on a Civic SI(which my brother has one)...if you REALLY REALLY cant find a touch up paint...go to Honda dealer and ask for the SI Blue...i doubt that they will come up with one for your color...or if they do you have to special order it
