this summer i plan on rebuilding my d16y8 or w/e the damn engine is called from 95 ex anyways back to my point im going to run
forged pistons and rods port and stage 3 polished head with a 3 or 5 angle vavle job then im going to get some titanium valves then going to bulletproof the block with reinforcements along with the cylinders and the pistons are going to be low compression along with some cam work and little other things like chipped ecu and that shit then im going to run a garrett turbo with custom piping (b/c its cheaper to make your own that buy a kit) with an intercooler and im hoping to run 20 psi off pump gas does anyone think that this is doable?

20psi on pump gas? :lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2: That is funny. No, 20 psi on pump gas is going to be undoable. Just curious why a sohc? Why not a DOHC if you are spending that kind of money?

:werd: DOHC is much more effcient & capable of bigger gains compared to SOHC.

yes but sohc turbo spools up faster than dohc and i do bielieve 20 psi off pump is doable b/c my friends daytona runs 25 psi off pump gas

Yes, but you don't need an engine swap to go fast. You just got to know what you're doing. There are 11 sec sohc's out there, so you don't really need to go dohc. While wasting the money on swapping in a dohc, you could allready use that money to turbocharged the sohc to make it go faster, and so on....Nah mean?

SOHC is not going to spool any faster than a DOHC, if anything DOHC heads flow much better, and will aid the turbo more. Hondas already have 3 angle valves, so that's pointless. And you can not compare a Honda motor to a Daytona, it will not hold 20psi on pump gas without rebuilding to the point of might as well have not been a Honda motor in the first place.

fo sheezy. i would like to know where you got the idea that SOHC spools faster not flaming just wonderin.

eh im retarded mabye it was sohc rev's faster eh i can't remember
mabye i'll just sell da hoonda and go with a shelby charger
prolly not tho

With all that forged shit you can see about 12-14psi at most on pump gas. If you know a place who sells 103-105 octane that would help tremendously.

not in CT......
so basicly if i run 14 psi and have all my shit properly tuned i'll prolly be lookin at like 300 hp mabye and most likely 280 tq thats what i hate low tq eh oh well

14psi even on a built sohc sounds a bit much.. The most I would go is 12 with built internals so your engine doesn't die. That will give you a good 230-250whp and about the same in torque, if all goes well.

what would i be looking at with also a lightened flywheel
and if i get a b18b i can do the same shit and should be able to run 20 psi i believe i read up on one on this guys website said he ran pump gas i'll try and find it agian

Reminds me of "This is Jonny Knoxville and you're watching Jackass!" :)
I saw that video a looong time ago... Those are one of the best Honda engines for running boost on, and they're relatively cheap.

yeah my buddy's picking up up a 93 ls intergra with that engine and he gonna rip it out and drop in a b16a2 into it i was like alright dude lemme get that engine so he's gonna hook me up with it if u ask me he's retarted but w/e good for me

Turbocharged daytonas already have forged internals, including a forged crank. I still wouldn't try it on pump gas without doing some major calculations. you need to figure out what your dynamic compression will be.

aight once i get all of the shit in and break in the engine im gonna drop the turbo on then i'll fig it out
