Biggest engine possible?

Does anybody know what the largest engine is that can fit into a 2001 blazer?

You can put a 454 in there if you want, or even a 488 Viper V-10. it all comes down to money, how much do you want to spend?

airforceone for the most part is correct, however, you are looking at a lot of money. Your best bet would to be to go with a standard small block V-8 which they sell an off the shelf conversion kit.

Uh, twin turbo :eek7: 427? I don't think you can pull that off. Look under the hood or your truck, and you'll see that space is limited. The 427 will probably fit (physically) but once you add all the turbo piping, turbos themselves and an intercooler, you'll probably have no hood. Seriously, the biggest engine PRACTICAL to put in a Blazer (unless it is a fullsize) is a standard Chevy small block (350). Plenty of parts are made now to make the swap as straightforward as possible. With a 2001, it should be a while before you need to change your engine. I don't think you'd pass an emissions inspection with a 427 in a 2001 either. If you're thinking this because of a certain blue S-10 pickup ZR2 with the 427, the guy who owns that works for GM, he can pull off anything probably. I would've put the Duramax in it :naughty:. But Seriously, twin turbo 427s are best left to Lingenfelter. The cost of a twin turbo 427 motor alone will set you back close to the price of a decent used car, so why bother?

.....Good point....lol. But hey I can have dreams cant I? haha. Ill just have to look at what options I have when the time comes to change the engine...I may even just end up rebuilding the 4.3 and doing some serious mods to it.

The 4.3 can handle some fair serious upgrades, as the motor is based on the 350 (minus two cylinders). There are more and more upgrades coming up for these motors now. Superchargers, turbochargers, etc, they're all available.

I'll stick to moding my Regal, I don't think you'll ever be able to get a go FAST Blazer, plus make it handle good. Of course if you spend thosands and thousands, you could, but I don't think many people have the money to do that.

You can make it fast, trust me. If I had enough money...and knowledge...I could probably get it to do a sub 11 second 1/4 mile. The handling Im not too sure about. Id imagine that if you got it low enough to the ground and with the right type of suspension you could get some pretty decent handling out of it. But Im not sure.
