Air Dam Question

Hey guys,

Long time lurker first time poster  You guys are amazing I have learned so much already.

A little back storry...I have wanted a 3000 GT for about 7 years now and was never able to make it happen, till recently. I have a friend who's sister had a 1994 3000GT and wanted to get an SUV. Long story short the dealer was going to give her ridiculously little for it so my friend had her sell it to me for the same price. I had nver even test driven this car before because I really wanted one and was never in a position to buy one....WOW have I been missing out!!! This is the most amazing car ever :evillol:

Well his sister was not the best of drivers and has hit the front air dam a time or two while parking. The front of the actual air dam (not the car itself) is a bit bent but not bad. I am not sure but I think it may be broken...when I lower it to look at it there are small grey/silver projections on the top of it. I have not been able to find any pictures of the 3000GT with the air dam down to determine if this the way it is supposed to look or not but it definitely does not seem right. As soon as I figure out how to put a picture on this site or get off my butt and make a website with my car on it I will provide a picture for you guys to look at. In the mean time could one of you nice folks post a picture showing the car with the air dam down or point me to a website that has such a picture.

I have read that with the air dam down it is supposed to scoup more air into the engine compartment and over the roters to help keep them cooler but I may have gotten this confused.

Thank you so very much for any and all help.

Ottopylot proud owner of a green 3000gt for the last 3 weeks

Signature with pic coming as soon as I figure out how to do it. :icesangel

Hey guys,

Not trying to be annoying at all just wanted to keep this near the top for a bit longer. No one has any pictures of a 3000GT with the front air dam down? Thanks.

well I dont have any pics, but it doesnt scoop the air in. What it does is reduce the amount of air that goes under the car, in effect reducing drag and lift.
