installation of my vtec

im buying a b16a2 sirII engine for my 93 hb cx. im considering doing it with me and my friend who has done swaps on cameros and other cars. i know this swap is one of the easier ones but is it still wise to get a certified mechanic to do it? if so, about how much should i pay for it? i called my local mechanic who hasnt really done much work on hondas and he said he'd do it for 1600.

agree. you shouldn't pay more than $1000 for installation and even at that price its kinda pushing it. around here shops charge $600-$800 for installation
