I don't have a Max, so I don't know, but you may want to check your timing belt/chain. They should usually be replaced around 100K miles. If it breaks, you will break down, but it may just break and nothing will happen, or it may throw all the timing and everything off and make your engine literally blow up.

The maxima's 3 liter is one hell of a sound engine. Like honda's which often break 200,000 miles, I wouldn't be suprised to see the nissan top even that. The only concern could be the transmission, If you own a 5spd there is a tendency for them to give out, I havn't heard much about the auto's though. In all if kept maintained, your maxima should run for a long time.

My friends 95 Isuzu Rodeo's got 335,000 miles. His uncle drove it daily from Northdridge, CA to Lake Arrowhead, CA and back (if you are familiar with CA that is very far!!!)

I know of someone with 520 000 miles (800 000km) on a sentra, my mom got 200 000miles from a stanza (and it still ran great!), so you should get ALOT, the engine won't be the problem (rust, tranny, other stuff)

I got to 240,000 before I rearended someone and $3000 in damage wasn't woth fixin it on average my dealer said they easily run to 300,000 with regular oil changes now if you ran Amsoil like I did probably get much more probably 500,000 with ease

If you have a SOHC engine, you want to change the timing belt every 80K. The DOHC engine runs a timing chain and should be good for at least 250K.
Nissans manual trannys are known for having bearing problems. Both of my Nissans have 5 speed trannys. Both of them had the input shaft bearing (right next to the clutch) fail. It was not too bad to replace them on the driveway.
Other than that, my 92 Maxima with 200K miles is just starting to get worn in, not worn out.
