Faded/Drunk

Ok, this is pissing me off with people I know.

Everyone from LA thinks (correctly) that faded means "high"

Everyone south of the OC thinks that it means drunk.

And people from norcal are just aliens so they don't count.

What do you guys think? Please state if you are from Cali as well.

Faded has always refered to drunk.

Stoned/baked/whatever the new hip term is = High

I've heard the term used for both, though back in the day it was mostly about bein' high...

who cares.....it's all slang and meanings are often localised.

I have lived in LA for over 2 years, hung around with lots of different people, and have never heard the term faded. :screwy: as far as i now, it doesnt mean either or doesnt exist.

I'm not from California but I've never heard 'faded' used in that context either.

tupac wasn't born in LA but i suppose you'd still say he's from L.A, anyway in that song "you ain't shit without your homeboys" he says

"me and my niggaz is so close, it's compliated, one nigga smokin and drinkin' but yet we're all faded." that would lead me to believe he's referring to catchin a contact from both at the same time. I'm from NY so i don't really use that term. that's what crunk's for :iceslolan

i'm from the northeast and i hate the term wicked. that's a massacheusettes/bostonian thing as far as i'm concerned. i went on vacaton one year and hooked up with these girls from Mass, every other word out of their mouth was wicked this, wicked that, it totally turned me off to the phrase. like i said it's crunk around here or just plain ol' "fucked up" always does the trick
