Hi,

Got my SI manifold in the mail last night.
As soon are exams are over (end friday) ill be workin on da hatch hopefully for 2 weeks straight on x-mas vacation.
Anyways,
I got the SI manifold brace, it said u didnt need it but i got anyways.
Should I get the manifold gasket? How much do they go for at Autozone?
DO I have to use a sealant?
Thanks

If you're changing the manifold, you really have to replace the gasket with a new one, they're not generally reusable

they're cheap too, no reason not to get a new one in there. You really shouldnt need any liquid gasket in there unless one of the surfaces is dinged up badly.

you need to make sure both surfaces are clean, but at least in my case, the intake manf gasket was easy to get off (unlike the head gasket). I just dont think it gets as hot.

So this is for the MPFI swap? How much that manifold run you? Thinking about trying it eventually on my STD since it runs nice but it's a bit low on pep.

at least after changing the water pump and getting a valve job i now no longer have the gushing water leak and small oil consumption I used to have! So that's nice.

Yea, Ill get one this weekend.
I got my manifold for about 60 bucks with shipping included.
I got the SI distributor and ECU also.
All in all, I spent about 125 bucks for everything.
