Can you get parts for a Nissan CA18DET for a S13??? Im getting my 240sx very soon (will have the money in a week to buy one). I plan on swaping in a S13 CA18DET by the end of Feb. But its hard to find parts for CA18DET's in the states.

Does anyone know the gain with those Flywheels? I mean, dyno numbers from before and after installations, not just guessing how much.

Dyno numbers on this can be misleading. It won't give you more horsepower! On an inertial type dyno your numbers will be higher. On a brake dyno you probably wont see much improvement. This is an excellent mod however and perhaps one of the best bang for your buck.

I have the Zex light flywheel (same as JUN light) and the ACT street strip clutch sitting in my closet. I'm waiting till I need to replace the stock clutch before I put them in.

the flywheel wont give extra HP...it's not something that's suppose to make power as it goes in the tranny to better make use of it. just like a clutch will allow the car to put more power directly to the road, the flywheel will make your engine rev happier and it'll pick up faster.

Correct you are G-Forces, there was a hugh thread on the se-r list that went over all of this, pretty technical with Rotational Inertia equations...blah...blah...blah...but to sum it up, Ill quote George Roffe

It will help acceleration, but not true hp. Lower mass shows up as more hp on an inertial dyno because it does help acceleration and an inertial dyno calculates torque based upon the speed with which the car can accelerate a known mass.

If I take 300 lbs of dead weight out of my car, and it accelerates more quickly, does it have more hp? The answer of course is no. The engine accelerates the flywheel at the same time it is trying to accelerate the car itself. Lower either mass and the car accelerates faster, but the car has no more hp.

It takes the same amount of hp. It takes more hp to accelerate the higher mass flywheel at the same rate as the lower mass flywheel. Keep this in mind.
Hope this helps....

Great info, thanks. Now I will reformulate my question. :)

Does anyone knows what is the diference in weight between the stock flywheel and the JUNs.

I guess the only down side to a lightened flywheel is if your a freeway flyer (drive a lot on the highway) you tend to get less mpg (mpl) due to not having the mass of the flywheel and its kenetic energy (geekin). I think you will also feel a more rapid deceleration when the foot is off the pedal for this same reason. Those with lightened flywheels are you experiencing this? Just checking...

if i didnt forget...the factory fly wheel is close to 30lbs or so..jun lightweight flywheel is about 10lbs. no brainer here.

Thats the reason why people buy after market flywheels. They are lighter then stock and thus have many benifits. Duh

Ive enquired about machining the standard flywheel before, over here in the UK, but was told that it could possibly effect the idling of the engine, also on sharp deceleration, i.e. lifting your foot off the throttle quickly can cause the engine to stall. is there any truth in this??? and would it occur wiht the JUN flywheel??
