i think anyone 24 and below/single/male with a sports car would have high insurance. dont know what the exact figure would be.

it is but the VR-4 still has 300+ hp. and is capable of doing about 160m/h. lol even the sl has 222 hp. anyways i hope you get my point.

see if your parents will let you put yourself on their insurance plan, if so it would more thanl ikely be about 100 to 150 unless youve gotten a ticket. if not i dunno.

I don't ever recommend a VR4 as a first car, but if thats what you're getting, then have fun.

As for insurance, you should do an online quote with Geico www.geico.com (http://www.geico.com) and see what they tell you. It'll give you a ballpark figure if nothing else.

Why don't you recommend a vr4 as a first car?

youngvr4

because its fast as hell and its dangerous, people have gotten vr4's at speeds faster than a corvette, ya know what i mean. its not just a fast looking car its FAST! and a car that fast for a first car usually means injury, not tryna jinx you or nothin but that is usually how it goes. but hopefully your not a dumb driver and will drive safely.

im not saying don't get it just be carefull. my first car was a piece of junk and of course i thought i was the best driver, even so i banged it up. i was a good driver till it poured raining and i tried to pass on the right and check out the girl in the car on the left of me. bang hit the car in front of me.. hehe well anyway good luck

The insurance also depends upon your location. For you sake, I hope you are not in New Jersey. If you are, with a clean driving record, expect it around $300 a month.

Just get the insurance under one of your parent's name. Put yourself as a secondary driver. It'll save you a shit load of money.

The VR4 is a touring car, not a sports car.

say, i HAVE my dad's accord for my high school year, the car has "reliability insurance" wut ever that means. THEN i get a VR4 with my records being PURE 100% no-crime, will the Insurance be lower for me if i get the VR4 by the time im 17??

(I highly doubt that this will ever happen to me, but just wondering)

Just get the insurance put under one of your parent's name as primary driver. It'll save you a grand, easy.

get a volvo! Man are you kidding? Im 23, married, have a multi-car discount, and a perfect driving record(cousin is the sheriff) and my VR4 insurance is $3964/6 months. yours will be crazy high. They tell me a corvette is cheaper to insure. The reason for this is VR4 is just as fast but heavier, so it does more damage when you hit something. They rate the Vr4 a symbol 26, I dont know exactly what that means but I know its bad. Go VOLVO, car sucks but insurance is cheap.

where the fuck do you live, cause thats just nuts to pay every 6 months

Yeah it sucks
Im 17 and when I went in to get a quote (dont have a vr4...yet) the cheapest I cound find for full coverage is $394/month. I get the good student discount plus no tickets. The best I could find for liability was $109/month which is what im going to end up doing and then driving very carefully.

The only thing you have to realize about a vr-4 is that is expensive in every aspect. Not just the purchase, but repairs, maintainence, insurance, gas...everything. It costs 30-40 to fill up a tank and the best i've ever gotten out of it was 300 miles. But back to the point. Depending on where you live, the color you get, your driving record, and your age, decides just how expensive it will be. With a clean record, at 20 years old, with defensive driving, in New York with Progressive(which I don't recommend because they don't do student discounts), mine started as 4k a year, and has dropped to 3k a year due to me raising the deductable from 500 to a 1000 in case of an accident. Until you are 24 or married, your insurance will be high. My advice if you are going to insure it as your own car and not your parents' is: if you have a good GPA show it to your insurance company for a student discount, take defensive driving(in NY = 10% discount), also some insurance companies give you a discount if you pay the whole year or 6 months at a time, rather then every month, and find a good paying job to support your car!

without a horrible ticket i got into my insurance would have been $220 but since its not clean it is $370 a month but i'm under my parents insurance.
