Does anyone know how much power you can squeeze out of a SRT without blowing the block?? I know that some of the jap 4 bangers like the 4g-63 have gone over 700hp on pump gas, but can the neon match that kind of power in street trim?

I have seen a few peeps go with a t3/t4 swap and run some more boost as well as a 150 fogger system on a srt, he is claiming around 500 whp... im not deffinate tho, and another guy i have actually seen his swap, he is saying at 15 psi it should put out 550 hp. but thats about as far as ive seen so far

If i'm not mistaken, don't the NHRA Summit Racing series SRT-4 guys run the stock block? They're running, what, between 800-900 horsepower?

Yep! BUT, IIRC, the block is filled, as is usually the case with drag motors.

I'd be willing to bet that 700-800 hp is attainable with a stock block while keeping the coolant passages free. Who knows? At that level, much of the difference is in how well it was put together. Details are EVERYTHING. :)

I have heard rumors of a 1100hp SRT dragster, but those don't count because they don't have to run on street gas, and that is what I am interested in.

Well, yeah. Introduce alky to the mix, and all bets are off. :)
