Just go to a salvage yard and tell them you need a transmission for your car. They'll be able to look up the transmission model ('96 = 4T60-E) and be able to give you prices according to the milage on the tranny. Like the one in my car, it was $500 for a transmission with 52,000 miles on it.

oh yeah...

i have a 1993,V6 3.1 liter lumina euro with NO overdrive (3 spd)

i went to the yard and they walked through their 'tranny lot' and spotted the ones that were compatible with my car. I picked one i thought looked good but didnt think about it until i got home. How do i find the model number on the tranny, and can you really spot a correct tranny by sight???

thanks for the help!

You want a 125C transmission. The model number is usually stamped on the tranny somewhere....usually on the pan.
