I'm thinkin about buyin a nice luxury "sport" sedan and i'm considering the new 04 TL or the maxima. i'm a little reluctant to buy a new car within their first year in production such as the TL. the maxima is very new too but so far haven't heard of any issues with them. i really like the look of the TL easily over the maxima. either one will be in the 6 speed version. i'm sure being a honda, the TL will be reliable as hell and the maxima's reputation speaks for itself. i think they're both great values. i considered a G35, but i don't like the sedan, only the coupe and i need 4 doors.
so vote on yoru choice. "educated" responses would be appreciated.
please keep the following in mind: if you're a die-hard nissan fan or a die-hard honda fan, try not to let your brand loyalty keep you from being objective. looks are subjective (i've already voted myself for the TL on looks alone). i don't intend on modifying the engine. if i do modify, it'll just be new wheels, maybe suspension and a nice audio system.
no "other" suggestions will be accepted. keep it between these two for the time being.

wow that is a tuff choice. the maxima in my opinion has a nicer interior, but the new TL looks better, the TL is also faster, and comes with slightly more amenities. but i think the TL might be built alittle better. i would pick the maxima though, cause its still a hot car, even though the TL is a better car in my opinion ( only by a hair ) buy either one, you can't lose.

dammit Tat, if you like the maxima, vote for the maxima. that's what a poll is for. :screwy: :p
jus playin. but you're absolutely right. i'd be getting a good car either way, which doesn't make this easy.

I did not think i would say this but i just went to a car show and saw the new TL and I was very impressed.
So even though I like the new maxima especially the one with the VQ35 my choice goes to the TL for the flowing reasons:
1.The interior is gorgeous with a very cool design using top notch materials. And the leather they used is again top quality
2. 270 Hp engine mated to a manual 6 speed. Puts power to the ground
trough an factory LSD(only on the 6 speed)
3. Brembo 4 piston calipers up front
4. Its full of gadgets inside: bluetooth compatibility, DVD audio, memory for different driver settings, climate hooked up to navigation to extrapolate the position of sun in order to adjust its temp accordingly.
5. Looks very good.

I sat in a TL at an auto show recently and I was very impressed with the interior. I feel that the TL has a better looking exterior than the Maxima as well. It also has a good amount of power a good gas mileage. The TL even had better interior than the new BMW 5 Series in my opinion.

The TL, without a doubt, just going by the two cars platforms and what I know about the TL. :)
Maximas (QX) over here have bored me stupid in every department, bar the VQ30 (And a 35 can only be better, though)

Both makes of cars are known for their reliability. The Nissan Maxima has had a better look compared to the previous generation it had. The Acura TL looks more or less the same. But my vote would have to go to the Acura TL because it looks better than the Nissan Maxima (Just my opinion), and has more power too...though the maxima has a little more torque. Plus you get a "little" better gas mileage with the TL.

They needed to make the Maxima RWD...w/a LSD...to win me over
