Who said they were bankrupt or "going to disappear"? I think you've been misinformed.

They aren't bankrupt a large British firm snapped Rover up and there has been a HUGE increase in sales, although at first when BMW sold Rover I thought it was the collapse of BMC all over again

The truth is between those two extremes. Rover is not bankrupt. A group of investors (not a large British firm) took control of the Rover Group from BMW in early 2000. Rover Group was then reorganized into MG Rover.

There has NOT been a "huge increase in sales" since this happened. Actually, the company does not have the resources for a huge increase in sales since they moved from two plants (when BMW owned them) to one plant today. They produce the Rover 25/MG ZR, Rover 45/MG ZS, and Rover 75/MG ZT models and recently absorbed Qvale of Italy. They expect to redesign the Qvale Mangusta and market it as an MG.

OMG that is the most imformed comment I've ever heard on AF!- What the hell- you've probably already been banned

The MG ZR is a very competent car and the ZS is a quanatam leap over the 45- the ZT is simply breath-taking:D

I'm not too sure about the Qvale Mangusta, but one can only hope MG gets the wherewithal to send a few ZTs (I believe that's the MG version of the Rover 75) our way.

Looks like a wonderful car, with some real personality that seems to be absent in most sedans these days. Mind you, the same could be said of the 75.

With the wagon revival in the U.S., imagine how much more interesting things would be if the 75 Estate and its MG version were brought here! I wonder if some tie-up could be made that would give MG a little dealer space...?
