I was wondering if anyone has any ideas, on how to go about doing a JDM integra type R headlight conversion, on the Revell ITR, w/out actually buying the JDM complete kit...?

I am going to have to agree with Antonio on this one.

All I can really say, is best of luck. :iceslolan

Why don't you just buy a JDM integra? Save you the hassle

well, this question is kind of for my friend, but we both think it would be more fun and ambitious, to attempt it, .....where can i get clear plastic?

sounds like a lot of hassle for a kit that already exists.

yes your right,BUT, already have the revell kit, and it would be fun to try....have you ever seen anyone do a C-conversion for a Rx-7, even tho there are kits that exist?

I don't know, have I?

(I don't think so.)

I don't think anyone would attempt to do such a conversion in real life without sourcing the appropriate parts, so I don't see the logic in trying it in scale. There are plenty of times when scratchbuilding is necessary, but I think most modelers I know of would MUCH rather scavenge parts, when available...

Keep in mind that there are scaling issued being that the Revell ITR is 1/25th scale while the Fujimi counterpart is 1/24th scale... I encountered that when I mounted Revell ITR tailights to my Fujimi CRX. I ended up butchering a Fujimi ITR to maintain scale accuracy..

But, if accuracy isn't a concern, I say go for it.

Haha, that's funny.. Why do a JDM conversion when you can own the real thing..! Anyways, I'd probably buy the 2 kits and try to splice in the Revell parts into the Fujimi kit, or cut the front out from the fujimi body and hack it down to 1/25th, if that's even possible... I mean, you'd only need the dashboard from the monogram kit. Then stick the Revell engine into the Fujimi after cutting out the hood. I wonder if you can even widen the Revell parts (like the bumpers) to fit the Fujimi kit.

All in all, sounds like it could be a fun project..! I am still in the process of lowering my damn Fujimi...

clem..
