I miss my cat Daffodil. I had her from the time I was 6 til I was 10. She was one of those cool hang out buddy type of cats. She also put up with a lot of shit from me, seeing as I was a pretty wild kid. Unfortunately my mom became deathly allergic to her and our 3 other cats. The dr. said she would never get better if we kept our 4 cats and 3 dogs. Sadly we had to take 1 dog and all the cats to the humane society http://forums.off-topic.net/images/smilies/tear.gif. To this day I still miss them terribly. Maybe someday I will get a cat again, dunno. :(

Thanks, at least she holds the record for the longest I was able to keep a cat. She at least lived a long healthy life. Long live Taznie. I wonder if I should get another cat.

YES. Get one!
When my 1st dog died, everyone said that the best thing to do was to get another one right away. Of course we said our goodbyes / mourned and what have you. But Mariah (our 2nd dog, passed 18 months ago) wasn't (and never could be) a replacement.
Just a new friend and a new story :)
PS Dammit, I loved that dog :(

Okay, the dumb cat first! *lol* He's the younger of the 2:

And here is the "Great Black Hunter". He looks kinda dumb in the pic (I caught him off-guard as he was waking up) but he actually walks with a strut!

Ok, Try this.
Next time you get some strawberries leave one or two in the punet.
Then put it in frout of your cat.
Theres something in the strawberrys that works like Cat Nip, It works best if thier really freash, and maybe a little bruised.
The Grey one, Mindy just goes mad and slobers and rubs herself all over them, the other one Daisy sticks her head in the punet sits very still and takes these long deep breaths.
Its really really weird, like cats smoking weed! :smoka:

I want to know if other cats get off on it as well, or if we just have two very strange cats.
Mindy did it first, in the above pic, (someone put them on the ground at a party, and she just dived straight in), then we tried it on daisy.

:D I’ll try it on our cats and see cos all 3 are pretty strange in one way or another!! A cat we used to have loved those rice snack things (especially the seaweed flavoured ones!!) and one of our cats, Xenia, likes chips (the sour cream and chive ones I think!). I’ll definitely have to try the strawberries though! :hehehe:

The Buttered Cat Principle - Examined in more depth
The Facts... If you drop a buttered piece of bread, it will fall on the floor butter- side down. If a cat is dropped from a window or other high and towering place, it will land on it's feet.
The Problem Stated... But what if you attach a buttered piece of bread, butter-side up to a cat's back and toss them both out the window? Will the cat land on it's feet? Or will the butter splat on the ground?
The Answer... Even if you are too lazy to do the experiment yourself you should be able to deduce the obvious result. The laws of butterology demand that the butter must hit the ground, and the equally strict laws of feline aerodynamics demand that the cat can not smash its furry back. If the combined construct were to land, nature would have no way to resolve this paradox. Therefore it simply does not fall.
That's right you clever mortal (well, as clever as a mortal can get), you have discovered the secret of antigravity! A buttered cat will, when released, quickly move to a height where the forces of cat-twisting and butter repulsion are in equilibrium, and continue spinning in mid-air.
Large arrays of this buttered cat system could be used to power monorails across the U.S.
