Having trouble with keeping it running

i have a 1996 pontiac transport and when your goin down the road it will just up and quit running, but all the electronics stay on. you have to wait about 20 seconds and then it will start again like nothing ever happened but the check engine lite comes on. the lite will go off sometimes if you turn the ignition off again when u get to your destination. sometimes it does this and sometimes it dont. there is no certain time that it does this and there are no certain conditions that it does it under.

Check the pass thru connector under the left side of the van near the side door...look for water and corrosion.

Sounds like it might be early signs of the fuel pump going bad. I f it gets worse definatly check the fuel pressure.

I had an Audi that did the same, it was the computer.

Mine is kinda doing the same thing you will be going down the road & when you go to slow down or stop it will die. But you don't have to wait 20 seconds it turns right back over. And the engine light comes on sometimes as well. Crazy thing. Let me know if you find out what it is. We put a TPS on it that didn't help, put a new fuel filter on it that didn't help either. Hopefully it's not the fuel pump.
