Is this where it goes ????????

I have an 1959 gmc 100 series plane jane base model truck and I am planning a 1985 4.3 tbi v6 swap. The motor and 3 speed auto will be donated from an 85 monte carlo that I am presently driving (to check out the mechanicals).
Having never done a tbi swap, I will need all the info I can get. I do know that the monte's puter will have to be used. As well as other sensors. My problem will be in unwirring and wirring the mess. I do plan on using after market engine and tranny crossmembers. Also I will be using a different fuel tank, don't like sittin right on top of it.

This sounds like simple advice, but the most important thing to remember is to label every single wire, before you unplug it out of the monte carlo. Don't simply trust manuals and schematics. You will always find a flaw in something someone else wrote. Use colored tape to denote ground, battery hot and acc hot leads. I suggest, black red and yellow, respectively. Try to get existing harness connectors for the v6 that you can splice into the '59. This way you just need to plug it in. Meaning, Don't cut or splice on the engine side of the connector, splice or cut on the vehicle side of the connection. Marc

I was planning to remove the entire engine compart harness with the motor and to remove all unnessary wires. Then create my own type of sensor harness. And then fashion some sort of connector and hope to get it right for the computer. If all else fails I can go to the old way and get a 4bbl. I do thank you for the info, it will help greatly.
