Is it possible to put C5 LS1 connecting rods in an LT1 with just a stroke and a piston change? There is a cid difference between the LS1 and the LT1. Yes folks, an LS1 engine is only 346 cid. The cid difference of the LS1 comes from a smaller bore (3.8976 -in.) and a shorter stroke (3.6620-in). The stroke was shortend to accommodate the longer connecting rods (6.1 in) and the bore to accommodate a beefier cylinder liner and still maintain a bore center-to-center measurement of 4.40 -in. I was wondering if there were any other considerations. Thanx.

You might have some clearance problems with the longer rods, but I would call a machine shop, they'd know, hell they usualy know everything. LOL
