Girls with tattoos

OK. What are your opinions on girls with tattoos? I’m seriously thinking of getting a tattoo on my lower back (an egyptian ankh with some tribal work around it and the japanese characters for Eternity). It won’t be a huge tattoo or anything like that but I just wanted to get some views. I don’t want to end up looking like a skank! :redface:

Well, get the figures done in a local language that comes from where your ancestors were from. Irish? Gaelic runes look awesome. Norwegian? Ditto for Viking runes. There's usually some form of cool old lettering from wherever your ancestry is from, most people don't put that kind of research into their tattoos. :/ As long as it's not overdone in size or number and is in an area that,

a. Can be covered up for job purposes.

b. Can be shown off without getting nekkid, (otherwise whats the point of a cool tattoo? Unless you're into that kind of thing!)

I’ve wanted a tattoo since I was about 18 but have never been able to think of something that I would want on me long term, that means something to me and that wouldn’t look stupid when I got older.

I’ll probably end up not getting one again because I’ll worry that it’s too common or something like that. :rolleyes:

That tattoo looks nice! I have a good friend I have known for a long time and she has a tattoo on her left ankle. It is the sun and she has had it for almost a year.

Dont be like the tosser in Pomgolia though, he asked for "Chinese characters" on his arm, so the guy wrote something like "I'm a fucking idiot" in Chinese on it :D

3) neck...ewww thats a hell no
4) tits...thats the king of white trash spots

I want to be able to keep it covered when I want to and show it off when I want to.

The Ankh will definitely be the main part of the tattoo if I go ahead with it. I just need to think hard about what I want around it.

Well it depends on where and what. I have a friend (girl) who just got one on her back a little while ago... and I liked her back better when it was just pretty skin. However that doesn't mean it'll look bad on everybody, just makes sure that whatever you get, make sure you like, and will continue to like it for many years before you actually go through with it.

First off, Yes I have a tat. I have had it for over 9 years now and still love it :evillol: I have been thinking of getting another but waiting to be sure I like it.
I have some advice here. :2cents: #1 Take a pic of what you want to get and tape it up where you must look at it everyday. If after a year you still look at it and like it GO FOR IT :evillol:
#2 Find a shop thats been around for YEARS as in 10 or more.
#3 Spend money on it. Dont shop around for the best price. Shop for the best work along with best ink. My colors have not started to fade out, even after nine years. All due to the best ink you can buy.
All n all I say go for it. Just make damn sure you like what your getting and the person doing the work takes real PRIDE in there work.
OH YAH, yes I find girls with tats very HOT. Shows a bit of a wild side and I enjoy that side of um :evillol:

I like chicks with tatoos, but only in the secretive places. Lower back is soooo incredibily cliche here (I'm at Uni right now, could just be an overabundance of lower back tatoos) and I've yet to see one elsewhere. I've seen guys with creative ones that aren't obscene or get in the way of work. One guy has his family's coat of arms on his chest and it looks freakin' cool.

However, women know this, your skin is so much softer and better looking than most mens, don't alter it in any place that most people would be able to see it, (lower back). I don't find this attractive at all since whenever a chick bends over it eyes ont he ass and then the fucked up symbol that looks like it came off a plant that mated with a hunk of metal, I've yet to see anything that defines the chick, or evne one that I thought looked good, I'm picky and don't forget that whoel permanent issue, when these women are in thier later years, I could see some of them no caring on the outside but saying WTF on the inside.

Spec2 Girl, you seem to have had some time to think aobut this, so I'd say go with whatever you thought looked best, seeing as it won't be a drunken or rebellious impulse against your parents.

IMO the hottest possible spot is the groin above and to the left of the you know, but still below the waist and inside most bathing suits. I find it increbily sexy since it's so private, it's like a 'you mean something' or 'you mean something at the time' confirmation stamp.

edit: In case anybody was wondering, on guys anywhere is fair game, just be ready to live with it, I'm not even going to think about one until I've stopped growing which will I'm guessing be around my mid thirties, I'v heard bad news about stretching when msucles grow and removal I'm also told is painful, neither option sounds too hot.

it all depeneds on the person. i personally dont like tatoos, especially the big ones that can be seen...BUT, there are some tatoos that look good on some people. i "sometimes" find it sexy with women that have tatoos that can be hardly seen, as mentioned earlier...on places that are secretive. just not too showy though. just my opinion. just make sure you wont regret it, its hard when you regret it when its already too late.

Honestly, it depends on two things... a.) the girl, and b.) the tattoo. I've seen some very pretty girls with very ugly tattoos, and also seen some very ugly girls with very nice tattoos... I don't think that tattoos make girls look like skanks. My girlfriend has 5 tattoos, and although they are all very nicely done tattoos, two of them I can't stand.

i think tattoos look good on chicks if they are cool unique symbols. Be careful though, many people I have talked to, after you get one you get tempted to get many more. Some get obsessed and then get it all over their body.

Kind of like modding your car, once you get that first mod on, you want many more than what's practical or in your budget

Tattoos, that is a very touchy question- some tattoos can look good, especially around the lower back and small ones on the ankle, but mostly they look trashy IMHO

We went and had a look at another tattoo parlour in Auckland last night (not the one that I would have it done at) to have a look at some pics and the woman their said they hadn’t tattoo’d many ankhs (which is good because it means they’re not common!).

I have a large-ish tribal on my lower back, a celtic sun on the back of my neck, some kanji on my forearm, and my chest is emblazoned with a sacred heart and sparrows.(oh, all the places that are oh so 'trashy', btw, all these were done WAY before they became 'played out' and old.) :rolleyes:

I didn't get them for everyone else to look at, and to tell you the truth I don't give a fuck who thinks they are "trashy". I like them and I have to live with them for the rest of my life. And just for the record, chicks who get cutesy little dolphins and shit are posers and shouldn't have even bothered going under the needle. :loser:

What does the Symbol mean to you, Andy? I agree with Grant's sentiments about fashion statements etc. I also feel that the lower back and the kanji/symbols are overdone. Get it some place different, and get something unique and meaningful :)

I've never seriously considered a tat, too permament and my religion kinda is against it, but if I ever got one I would want something that I won't regret years later. I branded my hand and now I regret it :(

btw if you're gonna go with a rotary tattoo too....IMO you should try a black and white technical schematic of the engine for the tatoo...something an engineer would draw....I think that would be way cool

Tasteful is definately the keyword here. The catch is, that the word "tasteful" means different things to different people. Most of what I have to say has already been mentioned, and therefore is undeserving of any elaboration- nothing huge and/or obscene (just because you like it now, doesn't mean you'll like it later,) something that can be covered up, or at least disguised in some way, nothing to played out, if your goal is to avoid that kinda stuff, etc. etc. I personally don't mind certain types of tattoos on girls, generally the more subtle the better. I can't stand those god-awful tribal things (especially across the lower back or belly, doesn't make a great impression with me.) Also not a fan of the annoying arm band type. Although highly trendy, I'll still admit to my favor towards thoe smaller ones that girls get on the hip, right above the pubic area- damn sexy. Not quite sure about the equally popular ankle ones though.

I also wanted to note something that no one seems to have mentioned yet. It is said that whatever you get, you'll have to deal with the permanence. I don't necessarily agree. The methods for removal they have now are pretty good, and getting better. By the time you're old, and maybe not down with the tat anymore, they'll most likely have some sort of flawless skin-replacement surgery. Just looking at the difference between a tattoo my stepfather had removed 10 or so years ago, and the way they look now, it's a pretty strong testament to this advancement.

Well, I like tattoos on certain girls, for most girls to get tattoo's i think it should be fairly small and elligant, and very well tattood by a proffessional. just dont over do it. and yea, lower back is a good spot i think.

I don't think I'd ever want to kiss one,soft pink flesh is far more attractive.If she really wanted one,I'd advise a girl to choose something feminine,and put it somewhere discreet.Barbed wire around the bicep is for trailer trash and porn stars.

I have a cucumber sized (yah, it came out slightly too large) tribal design on the lowest part of my back. I am glad that I chose to get it there b/c only about half of it shows most of the time so if need be I can cover it up well. Tats are VERY addicting though... I already have more planned out. Decide on a design and wait awhile b4 getting it done and see if you still want it after some time goes by :)

Personally, I dont like tats on women. But I know lots of guys that do.
In the end, the choice is up to you. Whether you like it or not is all that matters.

My wife has 2 (shoulder and upper thigh) and I have 8. I like tattoos on women, but i do think the location is important. Tattoos on womans arms, hands, and neck just don't look right to me, but thats only my opinion.
