Oil Pressure

Hi all,

I Have a 1985 944 N/A. It appears to be running excessive oil pressure, indicates around 4 to 4.5 bar at some points. I have good compression, around 220 psi on each cylinder, however the car is using excessive oil. Could this be related to the high oil pressure? What could be causing this excessive pressure? Is there any oilways common to clogging or a relief valve?

Thanks in advance
Lee. :banghead:

4 bar is not uncommon-Does your car smoke after sitting a couple of days or just on start up? If so you probably need new valve guides. I know a great shop that does all the head work. Let me know if you want the info

when i start my car up, it runs about 5 bar, but after it warms up, it goes down and when i accelerate it goes up to about 4.5/ 5. Is that normal?
