*sighs* My mom.....

has been having some weird problems with her balance, eyesight, and strange numb feelings in her face...

well today she finally went to the doctor(this being a particularily busy season for us dog groomers she was reluctant to leave work)

so i took her and dropped her off(as my car is in the shop for its oil and exhaust work)...

she called me as I was in the hobby shop looking at an S2000 model, i raced to the office(which was agonizingly SLOW cause I was stuck driving her Saturn) and sat with her as she told me that she needed to get a Brain MRI...the doctor has never seen face paralysis in his practice b4, and worst case senario: brain tumor.......the doc said he wanted to rule out tumor early so...she goes for the MRI on wednesday...and she is quite light on the whole matter, joking and such....Im a little more reserved, preparing for the worst: so Im not too devistated when that is the news that I get....
I wanted to ask you all to keep her in your prayers....and hope for the best, thank you

I'm sorry to hear about this. It is tough to when a parent goes thru health problems. At least it sounds like she has a good attitude, which is definitely a good thing. I will keep your mom in my prayers. Please keep us posted.

Well she had the MRI this morning...the facial paralysis is worsening....
we dont know anything as of yet...thank you all once again....
I just cant believe of all the damn times to have something like this happen!!! but Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I'll keep praying for her! I hope that things make a turn for the better! Stay strong, and keep us updated! I'm sure I speak for us all when I say that we all have our fingers crossed!

the MRI showed that she has a SEVERE sinus infection!

That is awesome news! I bet you both feel alot better now. I have had pretty bad sinus infections myself, but never that bad..wow! What a nice Christmas present to get good news :) **HUG**

I had a doozy of an infection once that threw off my balance pretty nicely, so I get a small idea of what your mom was going through.

Okay I'm a little late on this thread, but wow, thank God it was only a sinus infection, hope she feels better now :)

Well.....I wish that that had been the end of that story.........


Today she went to the Neurologist......

she either has suffered a minor stroke.... or has MS....

so once more things have taken a down turn around here......one nice thing is she is leaving on Wednesday for a weeks vacation in Honolulu Hawaii to visit her brother who is stationed there in the Coast Gaurd...

of course she is in very good spirits! taking things as she is dealt them...

I don't know much about post-stroke care, but I do know that there are some very promising MS medications on the market now...

I sure hope things get back on the "right" track for your mom! Glad to hear that she is keeping her spirits high. That is certainly the first step!
