One more thing, converting auto to manual is not worth the time/money, IMO. Sell car, buy a manual then do a swap. :2cents:

getting an auto tranny for c5 would be a waste of money. :disappoin

edit- getting a c5 would be a waste of money, gsr with the cash you saved instead of buying a c5 would be so much better. :2cents:

Swap it to stick. The only prior mechanical knowledge I had was doing my suspension and brakes. The only part that sucks is gathering all the parts and every last little bolt and cover. Be prepared for some frustration. Oh, and I also dont know how to drive stick (learning on my friends Saturn)...finished my car this morning after it had been snowing for 2 hours...now the roads are a slush puddle. I'll be posting a how to soon that explains the conversion in more detail then the link in the FAQ at the top of the page.

So I guess What Everyone Is Saying They dont know of an Automatic trans that will work With a B18C5
know matter what it will be an Automatic.

well having a engine that makes all its hp in the upper rpm range and not being able to be use its power because of the auto tranny which cant rev that high would be a waste. c5 needs to be in the upper rpms to make power. why do you think the c5 never had an auto version :screwy: .

also i honestly dont think that paying around 5000 for the swap would be worth it when you can do a gsr swap for 3000 or a b20 for even cheaper than that and buy some decent cams or turbo charge it all for the same price as the c5.

stock the c5 is good but why not build a cheaper b series engine better than the c5?

Im still working on that But it will involve rebuilding the trans and will also need to take nutral out on my shifter so I could have 1-4 to shift threw but not have to learn how to drive a stick

If stick is really that hard for you, maybe you shouldn't have a fast car.........maybe you shouldn't have a car all together.

Look little guy... how old are you? 15? 16?

It takes absolutely NO BRAINS to learn to drive a stick... spend a good day in an empty parking lot and you've got it down cold.
Building up a powerful engine (at least a Honda engine) with an automatic transmission is a great waist of time and money...
Now I've been driving 5speeds from day one... and the only way I'll ever be driving an automatic would be if someone cut one of my legs off.... manuals are much more fun to drive, and faster than most automatics could ever dream of being.
Special exceptions to crxlvr.
But if you want to waist your time building an automatic anything.. I'd PM him... because he's putting an auto-b16a in his car.

OMG! I learned how to drive a stick in about an hour on my own and the rest is practice. You learn quick if you dump the clutch too fast and buck back and forth.
And for me its not hard to shift, drive, eat and change the radio. Hey dont worry just drive really fast in 5th and u wont have to shift.
hehe

same here, been driving stick since day 1...12 years old when i learned. and when i drive an automatic, my left foot always looks for the clutch and my right hand always looks for the stick. trust me, its not that hard to learn a stick. its easy as 1-2-3 and a-b-c.
