how hard would it be to take out the transmission to a 91 s-10 blazer with 4wd?

Pretty hard. You will want a hoist, a jack with a transmission adapter, some friends to help, some food to feed the friends, and probably a whole day if not more. Have you ever done this before? If not, do it on somebody esles' first, so you know what you're getting into to.
