short shifter problem

my friend has a 91 civic dx hb and he bought a short throw shifter that on ebay, it said it was for an 88-89. I thoght it was okay since that gen civic comes from 88-91, but i might be wrong. can you guys help me? Will this fit? thanx

I bought one for my 91 dx then I got an 89 Si and I put it on there and it fit absolutely fine, nothing I noticed was different at all.

88-00 works i believe

Yeah a lot of them it is 88-00 civics.
