First, learn how to type.

Second, call an insurance agency. You can get a quote over the phone without any strings attached. That way it won't be a broad guess like "somewhere between $700 and $900 per 6 months" and will be "$XXX.XX".

Best of luck

17 and you can't type or spell properly? :eek7:

Go to www.statefarm.com or www.progressive.com and get a quote.

And yes, the fact that the car is turbocharged does make a difference.

When i first got insurance for my car i went through progressive. I just got basic insurance and it came out to $600 for 6 months.

I'm getting a loan for my '02 WRX (hopefully i'll have it by late January) and i talked to geico..they quoted me for $1,500 every six months.i'm 20 (21 in two weeks)...those of you who are getting $600 every 6 months...how old are you, and where are you from?

I'm 18 and I live in Orange County, CA. Did you happen to... I don't know... kill somebody while driving? $1,500/6 months is incredible.

i dont know why it's soo high!
i have clean record, no tickets, no accidents, no killing people with car...but it's all the same...i live in San Jose, CA ... do you own the car? or have a loan? i'm going to get a loan.

It's high because of your age.
Where you live makes a difference, how much driving you do makes a difference, how long you've been driving makes a difference.
When you're 18 even your parents Ins record makes a difference.

If it's any consolation, when I came to America I had 10 years no claim bonus in Europe, it meant NOTHING. I even had to pay an 'inexperienced driver' premium for a while because I 'hadn't been driving in America for more than 3 years'.

Life sucks doesn't it.

Here's my stats:

Me - 24, driver since 16 (1988 Toyota Celica)
Wife - 21, driver since 16 (2000 Saturn SL2)
I've had 6 speeding tickets. 2 were out of state, and don't count against insurance ever. Only 1 ticket is now "on my record" (within 3 years.) Rachel's been in two car accidents, one "not-at-fault," and one "at-fault." She also has one speeding ticket on her record.

We had watched our auto insurance rise from less than $600 / 6 months to over $1,200 over the years, for no clear reason except for the accidents. Our insurance company seemed inconsistent with their "penalty points" too.

Anyway... we switched companies to American Family and instead of $1,200+, we're at just under $900 for 6 months.

Things that matter: Age, record, marriage status, claimed accidents, speeding tickets, safety / security features on the car, having more than one car insured, good student discount.

More things that matter: Location of your home (this is a big one for us; when we move to the suburbs, we'll cut 1/3 off our premium!), deductible amount (the higher the deductible, the lower the premium).

html tags don't work. you would have to write the following (but use the "[" and "]" where I use { and })

{url=www.url.com}name of url{/url}
