I have a 91 s10 tahoe witha 4.3 ltr. v6 and was wondering what would be the best upgrade for it. I curently have 373 rear end and automatic tranny. I am going to modify the looks of it first with all black interior and racing seats w/ 4 point harnesses. then I want to work on the outside but I have only been able to find one body kit and it was from razzi. If you have info on where I can get good rollpans, sideskirts, and front air dams please leave a reply. I am also wondering if a 2.8 ltr. 5 spd. would work with my 4.3. If you have any info or suggestions for my questions or truck please leave a reply.

Why would you want to replace your 4.3 with a 2.8?? Are you wondering if the 2.8L 5 speed T-5 tranny will work with the 4.3 engine? That, I really don't know. That's not exactly a swap that I would do. Don't like the 4.3? Drop in a 305 or 350, with the 700R or Turbo 350. No offense, but body kits are o-u-t. The only way to make the truck look lower is to actually lower it. If you don't want airbags, drop it like 4 in front, 5 in back. That'll sit nice. Mine was lowered 3 in front, 3 in back for quite some time and it looked ok. Now, with the bags it sits flat, so now it looks even better (and the chrome helps out A LOT).
For a roll pan, do you want to go with steel? Try Sir Michaels, I think the site is www.sirmichaels.com. For NON-steel, try www.eastcoastcustoms.com, www.stylinconcepts.com. Try these same places for air dams, too.
Hope this helps.

sorry about the misconception but i ment i was gonna switch the tranny not the motor. i was wondering if the 2.8 tranny would work because i can get one really cheap and i dont want a automatic anymore. i also found some really nice groundeffects at www.eastcoastcustoms.com and a 2"-3"-4" front and rear lowering kit for like $189. Hopefully i wont have to ride "high" much longer.

the 2.8 tranny and bellhousing bolt pattern are different. i'd go with a 350 turbo w/shift kit
