Thats great man good run, I only have a best of 10.73 in the truck (1/8th mile). Was definately feeling dirt slow compared to everything else at the track, but hey I owned the footbrake class and got $200 bucks so I ain't complaining :) .
I'd really like to run the Firebird one time at the track, but I'm afraid it would stall on me when trying to get on the line......we're not getting along very well at the moment....

Well all the tracks by me are at elevation (Not good for a N/A car). My best N/A is a 14 flat at 102 mph at LACR (Elevation 2700 ft. Density altitude is about 4-5000 ft. though). On the juice I ran a 13.1 sec. 1/4 mile at 113 mph. It was one of my great 2.3 sec. 60' times. Gosh I suck. I guess LS1's are somewhat hard to launch.

i'd say they are tough to launch if u are running a 2.3 60'
i can do that in my FWD torqueless honda...

I have a best run of 14.6 @ 98 MPH in the 89 GTC, the 90 GTC doesn't run but I hope to have her capable of 11s or 10s, and I don't want to know what the TSi runs.

I got a 13.6 at 102 mph with a 2.1 60 ft' time. I'm hoping to break into the 12's this spring with some new mods.

I have a good 70 of the more so.
The stats on them are listed here:
http://jekylandhyde.madpowaz.com/slips.htm
The best runs have the actual slip scanned in if you would like to see it.

your car is so damn awesome...
i've got 60+ slips... and it's cool to look at the progression from bone stock slow car, to 2 seconds faster (but still slow) car...
with an old motor in my lude, i ran low 17's stock, and now i'm 15.89...
i think when i hit the track again, without nitrous (never ran nitrous on the track), i should be low 15's.
with nitrous, i should be in the 14's...
not like that's quick, but for me, in my car, it is...

Yeah, I live my life a 1/4 mile at a time and for that ten seconds, I'm free. :icon16:
Honestly though, I'll take it to the track next season. I am sure it will pull at least 20s.

Best time for me so far is a 14.40 @ 97.40 with a 2.555 60'. I have ran a few 14.4x times at 98.xx speed with 2.5xx 60' times. I need some sticky tires :icon16:

You can't tune a N/A car for altitude, that's why they have an altitude correction formula on the NHRA website. I can post it if you want me to. The air is thinner at higher elevation. A N/A car doesn't have a waste gate like a turbo to compensate for altitude. all your doing by increasing the fuel pressure/timing is making more power, which may make you believe that you have compensated for the higher elevation. I had the same argument on another board (Which incidentally is why I left, because the members refused to believe there is a difference between Los Angeles County Raceway and E-Town).

once again jekyl I thank you. Although I've not looked at the page yet, your very helpful for those of us who wish to race on the track. as for time improvements:::
WARNING: SLOW CAR TIMES AHEAD!!!
all runs are done in a bone stock accord..this reads..no mods as of yet..
when I first started at the 1/8 mile track sometime in August, I ran an 11.8xx
October with emptying the trunk and going to a better fuel station it was down to 11.3xx
Currently I run in 11.0xx to 11.1xx
Best time: 10.9xx
So flylwsi you are doing better than me :) keep up the good work
END SLOW CAR WARNING proceed to normal speed.
Why am I posting this?? Unsure just to visit..

That seems right on target for a bone stock accord.
What year? ... what's your 60' (that is arguably the most important number in drag racing).

Exactly, which is why you will see a Top Fuel dragster pull mid 4s in LA and mid 5s in Denver.

Actually he stated you can tune an "N/A car for altitude" ... Top Fuelers are far from NA ... it just goes to prove that altitude (thinner air) affects all of us.
"A N/A car doesn't have a waste gate like a turbo to compensate for altitude."
Please explain how you get a wastegate to compensate for altitude.

No, he said you can’t tune an N/A car for elevation. My point was more or less to state that you can tune a car to compensate for elevation but no matter what you will always run better times at lower elevations than you will at higher elevations whether you're running forced induction or N/A.

If we are looking at 60's it doesn't matter if it is 1/8, 1/4 or 10 miles :p
*smile*
Seriously though ...
60' =2.594
This is going to be your biggest arear for improvement.
Do you know for sure if the 2.5 is result of tire spin or lack of power?
If it is tire spin, then you can improve either your launching technique or buy better (grippier) tires.
If it is a lack of power, then ...well, you already know your car is stock.
Regardless of the length of the race, try geting your 60's down ... 2.0-2.2 range with street tires. That will make a huge difference.
Good luck.
