After getting my oil changed by a Dodge dealer my low oil warning light started coming on when I brake. I took it back to the dealer and they said that they did not cause the problem. The oil light is not the problem but every time I hit my brakes the light come on and this stupid chime just dings and dings and dings. I can pull a fuse to stop the light and sound but in also disables the dash fuel and speedometer gauges. My question is can I just disable the CHIME and HOW!!!

Thanks

Have you checked to see if the oil is at the right level

Yes, dah, I'm sure it's the low oil sensor but I need a short-term fix like disabling the chime but I'm not sure how to do it.

Thanks FireChicken

Actually it was my wife that took it to the dealer and it's her van but I drive it from time to time with the family.

I am having the same problem, but it's not just when I hit the brakes, it will come on from time to time, I already changed the sensor on it, does anyone know if there is another sensor, or how to turn off that dang chime?

If this started right after changing the oil I would remove the filter they put on and try a different one like a Purolator and see if the problem stops . Faulty filters can sometimes cause something like this , you don't have to change the oil again its very unlikely its the oil .

WARNING WARNING WARNING
My 99 grand caravan SE had 85K miles when it displayed the low oil light and constant audio warning (dang dang dang...). I stopped immediately to check the oil level. It had plenty of oil so I thought it was faulty indicator. Regardless, I was going to have a mechanic take a look right away. Then I drove about 5 miles more when it croaked and died. As it turned out it was the weak oil pump, unable to pump enough lubricant to the engine. Replacing engine cost $4700. If you want to avoid that, stop driving the car as soon as you see the warning light.
