NOS with a turbo

I want to run a turbo charger on my civic and run somewhere between 20 and 30 pounds of boost. I also want NOS mainly to take the lag out of the turbo. What kind of shot would you use and what would you do to prep your engine for it.

I would do a 50-75 shot.

do you realize the hell and mad cash you are gonna dish out for 20 - 30lbs of freakin' boost?!

With 30 pounds of boost, get ready to see the pistons shoot out the hood. lol. If you have a blow off valve, lag won't be that much of a problem.

unfortuantely 20-30lbs of boost on a civic is basically unrealistic unless u plan to pay all the loot to fully build ur motor to race specs....top of the line pistons, rings, block guard, blueprinted and balanced, honed, valve job, head gasket, etc.... by the time ur done with that, u wont be able to afford the turbo to hold that much boost. theres a guy who blew a 2.5" hole in his block when his boost controller screwed up and boost shot up to 17psi....just a heads up of what happens to a civic motor when boost goes to high
:bloated:

I think he meant 2.0~3.0lbs of boost & forgot the decimal point ;)

What does it mean to hone your engine. I'm new at cars and I'm still trying to figure out all the terms

Extrude honing would involve an abrasive putty like substance throughout any ports or channels (ie. intake manifold, exhaust manifold, etc.)

Anyway, at the very least you need to pay special attention to strengthening the bottom block (ie, new pistons, new rods, block guard) to handle all that boost, GuitarManiac101. Then, you can choose either a 50/75 shot w/o worrying about blowing up your engine. Make sure you get a DRAG or FMAX turbo kit. NOTE: you will need to get new injectors for the DRAG kit.
