Subwoofers cutting out

I have a 94 taurus gl and I have a kenwood sound system in it. I have 2 12" subs (kenwood tornados) and a 600 watt kenwood amp and it always cuts out and just stops playing the bass. I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas what this could be.

first off, this would be better placed in the car audio section. now, to get back on topic, what gauge wires are you running from the battery to the amp? did you bridge the amp or leave it stereo? the only reason I can fathom for the subs cutting out, is the subs are drawing to much power from the amp, causing the amp to overload because it can't draw enough current to power it. I had 2 tens in my old 92 cav that cut out because I was running 8 gauge. my amp was trying to draw to much and kept overheating and shutting off. I switched to 4 gauge and never again had the problem, even when I kept the same amp and powered to 15's.

With a sound system like that, you are deffinately going to want a deep cycle battery, like an Optima, and possibly more powerful amplifiers depending on how many watts your subs draw out. Also think about adding a Capacitor to the system for wen the system needs an extra kick of current.
