I have an '89 GA, on cold mornings (around 32 deg. or so) the car takes about 6-8 seconds to shift into drive, it usually shifts into reverse pretty easily, pretty close to normal. This happened last winter too, but was not as bad. It seems the colder it is the longer it takes to shift. Any Ideas?

Hi, I had the same problem with my 88 Grand Am. Although I never found out the problem, I drove it like that until I sold with about 230,000 miles on it. That was the original tranny too. It never got worse or better & only happened in COLD weather like yours. The tranny started to do that when the car had about 150,000 miles on it. Sorry I couldn't of been more help. Just wanted to let you know I once had the same problem. It still dorve great though.
