I could use some help please. I have a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse with a 1.8 motor and for some reason I can't get it to circulate the water/antifreeze, I have checked the obvious, you know the water pump, the radiator, all the hoses for blockage but can't find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should check next? With it no circulating it just keeps getting hot on me. No worries I DO NOT drive it like this. Please some one tell me something.
Thanks in advance,

Is the car on level ground? Air bubbles can get caught in the pump on DSMs, though I cant really see how. Just for the sake of trying the easy fix, jack up the passenger side of the car to raise the radiator cap and put an incline to it on the front water pipe. Also, have you tried to remove the thermostat and see if that allows circulation? It be partially or completely stuck.

Yeah, that happened to me to. I got an air bubble in the system. Heres what i did to fix it...

Take out the thermostat. Put the housing back together and take the cap off. Start the car, and while its running just keep pouring water in. Eventually it should start pumping correctly. I had to do it a couple of times but seems to work fine now.

Oh, and put the thermostat back in when it starts working. :D
