When accelerating in my D15 powered (HAHAHA) Civic I hear a clicking sound. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Do I need to adjust the valves. The car has 121K on her and has had no major engine troubles (never been opened up).

Thanks

I just developed the same issue last night. I also have a large loss of power. Going to have the valves, springs, and rocker arms checked out tomorrow. Of course, I'm running 210K on mine and drive the poor thing like its some sort of performance vehicle. :P

Sounds like it's probably the valves tapping. If you never re-tighten them yet I would look into it. Also maybe just spend the extra cost and have the whole header redone, I got mine rebuilt for $356, rocker arm, valves, cam, everything.

Do you know what the specs are for adjusting these valves or tightening them? Is it worth it to get the head rebuilt or can I buy a head from a D16 (SOHC) and use that head? Will I see a performance gain?

www.helminc.com buy a factory repair manual then know all the spec's. Basically everything repairs, maintenance, etc. Thats the best investment you can get for your car.

The spec's should be on a sticker located - Hood

Dont forget to replace the v/c gasket, seals, grommets. Also honda bond should be applied to the new gasket on each side of the cam - 4 spots

V/A should be done at least every 30K
