I had this go bad on my 94 GC 5.2l V8 last summer. Over using the AC i guess.
I looked around the autoparts places for a whole new compressor and they were salty.
I called a few auto wreckage yards and found one for $30. I replaced it my self..
"There is some law in Indiana about releasing Freon (sp) into the air but when you replace the unit you will have to have it refilled. Make sure you get a compressor with a good seal or you won't have AC.
NOTE: If you wait untill the barrings go out. the beld will start to bend the top part of the pully towards the ground placing enough pressure to snap the Crappy Aluminum mounting bracket that holds your Power Steering pump rught below it compressor.
That is what happened to mine because I waited damn near until the pully fell off to replace it.
