removal/re-install of factory radio

Greetings :
I recently purchased a used 97 Tahoe from a dealer. I picked up a factory CD player from a junkyard and I want to install it in the space below the air conditioner. I have several questions:
1. Once I remove the radio to access the rear of it,when I re-install it will I have to enter some type of code? I don't have an owners manual
and the original owner is unknown to me.

2. Did GM install the harness that connects to the CD player from the rear of the radio in all Tahoes when they were built even if some didn't come with the factory CD player?

3. If the harness isn't there to connect to the CD player, where can I get one?

If anyone has added the factory CD player, I would love to hear how your install went. I just discovered this site and this is my first posting.

thanks for your help...

The easiest way to find out is to have a dealer run your VIN and they can tell you. If on your tape deck you should see the AUX button which is for the optional CD player, more than likely you have the harness inside. If u don't, get it from the dealer being that it's not a aftermarket part. Once you install it there is no code that I know of, only 2 side clips that make's the unit slide in. I took mines out and put in a little pocket and it slid in the same way.
