wont fire

i ran around town today and came home. a couple of hours later i went out and turn the key and the motor turns over strong but it does not fire. i start it everyday with out ever touching the gas and i did not touch the gas this time either. just turns and turns. so i tried the gas and still nothing. what is wrong? i have checked the fuses. they are good.

electronics in distributor are probably bad

I would also check the ignition coil if you can not find anything wrong with the distributor. I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the pick up coil inside of the distributor. Also make sure some of your connections did not rattle loose.
