Anybody know what the loudest or best sounding exhaust would be for a 5 litre Mustang?? Im getting a 93 GT, any suggestions???????????

I heard flowmasters sound really awesome, but everyone has those, I want something different, something that no one has heard in a Stang before.

I heard Steeda exhaust sounds really good and loud on a 93 GT but i have no clue on where to get one, I live in Canada, BC.

Please HELP!!!

I dont know much about 5.0 Liters sadly. The best exhaust system for mustangs that I know of is Borla. So if they make it for 93 GT's definetely look into that.

How much horsepower do you think you picked up when you got rid of your stock mufflers?

Its depends on upgrades. Stock your looking between 12-25.

Flowmasters SUCK! All Chambered muffelers Suck.

MagnaFlow, Borla, or DynoMax. No Drone ;)

Hey dude, I've got a killer exhaust system for ya. Mac 1 5/8 long tube headders, Mac 2 1/2 off-road h pipe, Borla 2 1/2 mufllers with turndowns. This is the setup on my car, it is a heavily modified 90 GT. With a lumpy cam and good compression this sounds EVIL. It is still all Mustang but unlike any other Stang I've heard. Loud too, really deep at idle and schreaming in the revs. The main compliment I get about my car is the sound. When I race someone they always bitch because could not hear their motor over mine so they didn't know when to shift, I also set off car alarms in parking lots if I idle by too close. The idle is so deep it shakes your pants if you're standing close by, but it's still not too loud to drive in town. Not an obnixous loud just ultra sweet, no one believes it's just a 306.

My favorite (non-exotic) exhuast set-up on a 5.0 Stang. Mac 13/4" Full length headers, 21/2" off-road H-pipe, 21/2" Side-exit Spintech Cat-Back.

I was running Borlas with dumps, with long tube headers. It was too loud for my taste. Installed the tailpipes, its sounds very nice, no drone of course. Its a hell of a lot quiter as well.

I am not into loud. I like to listen to music too much.

the intercooler tips really make my exhaust sound nice, in addition to my bassani x pipe w/no cats, and full lenght headers from bbk It's sweet.
loud but not too loud.
I run flowmaster 40 series, which have a deeper tone than the american thunder and are a little quiter.

http://www.mustangexhaust.com/sounds.htm

They have sample sound clips of 5.0'd, 4.6's, with H and X pipes, different years, etc. Hopefully the link will take you direct...

If not you might have to just go to mustangexhaust.com and register in order to get to the sound clips.

Magnaflow or borla, flowmaster is good but if u want little more power and sound these 2 are the way to go. I have a 4.6 so can not help u with your 5.0, but most people i hang around with have 5.0, and the nicest sound i have heard is a borla with an off road x pipe, if you in to loud.

02 GT 5/spd
Densecharger cold air w/ K&N
SLP loud mouth exhaust
SLP X-pipe w/Cats
C&L upper intake
75MM BBK TB

Check dyno numbers... a lot of systems I've looked at kill low end torque. And don't do loud an obnoxious... it attracts cops.

What if you want alot of Pops and Crackles in your exhaust when you rev it or shift gears, then what would you recomend??

I had this problem recently when I went from the factory fuel pump to a 190lgh fuel pump. Then I jumped to 30lb injectors and fuel pressure regulator and it really started to crackle then. I didnt do this on purpose that was just the result I got. When I changed heads however this crackling went away totally, well almost. I get just a little when I accelerate real hard. Hope that helps.

No they are the regular street flavor. Purchased them from R&E racing about three years ago. The strange thing about them is when I first put them on my car they were almost quiet. They replaced a set of Flowmasters and at the time I had a set of GT-40 iron heads with a mild port job. The staggered lope of the cam was there but it was muffled, not loud at idle at all. Very unique and very powerful sounding and until you got on it the new Borlas weren't much louder than stock. It got mean and nasty sounding as the revs increased, but still muffled. Reminded me of a pit bull pissed off barking at you through a privacy fence. I swapped to my Canfields and 11:1 comp, and ported my lower intake, and that seems to have pissed the borlas off. When I fired it up it did not sound like the same car. It was loud now. I love them but don't buy Borlas if you have a modified car and want to sneak up on anyone.
