gsr w/ type r internals

i was a a friend's house the other day and he told me that all an itr engine is, is a b16 vtec head on top of a gsr block. the only difference is that has stronger more efficient internals. if that is tue will a stock gsr motor with itr internals run faster? and if so will the parts install without modification?
