Damn!!! Did it again!!!!

well.... 3 months later i need a new clutch AGAIN!!!!!!! :mad:
driving to my gf's house 2 drop her off i tried to take off from the light in the wet and all i heard was spinning so i thought it was my tires, turns out it was my clutch, so i'm driving along, clutch is loose and works fine tho, on my way back i'm in 2nd, go to shift and it wont go into 3rd, 4th, or 5th
so i stop at the side of the road to try and get it into gear, no 1st or 2nd either, try reverse and it grinds the fuck outta it but goes in, so i shut the car off, put it in 1st and start the car again, i get back onto the road and start shifting without the clutch (luckily i've been practising) the weird thing is i can have my foot to the floor on the clutch with it in gear and hit the gas and the car still moves a bit and accelerates slowly which shouldnt happen!!
so anywho, this weekend i'm pulling the tranny again and tossing in a new clutch disc, another new release bearing, and a pressure plate this time, and prolly gonna send my flywheel out to be machined this time as well

so yea theres my "Fun" story... on the bright side, the Door Handle i ordered from 91civichatch2571 came in today so i got a good non-cracked handle that hopefully wont get pryed off this time! and i got a key for it too :D lol

No problem and Im sorry to hear about your clutch, that really sucks. Its only been in the car for 3 months? Good luck with everything.

3 months!? Damn...hopefully wherever you bought it has some kinda warranty/replacement policy...damn...that's not a lot of driving when you consider most of our cars have been driving for over a decade on the stock clutch.

yes its still the stock clutch cable, never touched that, and its not out of adjustment either, we adjusted it all the way so it Should disengage but it doesnt, i think its my pressure place that finally snapped, i've had a ton of hard launches on that plate so i'm guessing its dead now

ok, well found out why my clutch was bad, gonna try and get a digital shot of the pressure plate so you guys can see what its like... not gonna spoil it till u see a pic lol :D

i have never seen that before in my life. and im a professsional mechanic. ive seen pitted ones, ive seen warped ones, and grooved ones, ive even seen teeth break off, but never a broken in half friction surface. geez

yea it is quite bad, i've never seen anything like it either b4, theres a shit load of spider cracks all over the place tho, u look at it and all u can see are cracks lol, ah well, it was fun :screwy:

what kind of clutch/pressure plate did you get to replace it?

i just got a stock pressure plate and clutch disc, its all i could afford :(
