I just recently got a SSEi with the automatic climate controls. Is there anyway you can control the air distribution? I want the middle vents to blow air but it always has it distributed to the floor.

You should be able to shift to manual control by depressing the mode button and observe the arrow icon that denotes airflow. Each successive time that you depress the mode button, it will shift the dampers for the appropriate ventilation mode. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the response, but you must have a different set of climate controls - I don't have a mode button so I can't switch from floor to bilevel. I've tried a variaety of things but I can't get air to come out of the center vents.

I have the same problem with my car. When I push the mode button the arrows only point up and down. I just can't get the air to come out the middle vents.

I think it depends on the outside temp, and if you're trying to cool or heat the inside. If you're trying to cool the inside(hot outside), then it should use the middle vents. If you're trying to heat the inside(cold out) then it uses the floor vents. at least that's the way my 92 is.

You cant control where the level comes out on 1994 years and before, that is one of the downfalls, I think once you have the temp set higher than 78 or 79 or something like that it automaticly goes to the floor, nothing you can do about it. I dont like that either.... Hope this helps
