Maybe. It all depends on your driving skills.

also i dont have the right ecu i have a p28 ecu i redline at 7500 rpms so im waiting to get a chipped mugen ecu so i can redline higher hopefully it will help out... i also have a 4-2-1 dc header to put on

the proper ecu will show better results than the header will.
once u get that on, u SHOULD beat him by a bit more than 3 cars.
its jus a bit faster than a civic ex, so u should be putting good distances on him (which u already did)
good kill buddy.

ok another question what if the neon had aem cold air intake / 4-1 header/ custom exhuast 2 1/4 inch and lowered and i had short ram intake/ dc header/ exhuast/ mugen ecu...? what do u think the outcome with be... realistically if we both are decent drivers

around the same. his motor will free up a bit more power from the i/h/e than ur motor will, but the mugen ecu is known for nice enough gains.
since neither would have any major differences since this race, i don't see how it'd change a lot (unless he gets a lot better at driving or vise-versa)

what would my car with my motor and i/h/e and ecu run in a 1/4 mile with a decent driver? just take a guess

low-mid 15's w/ a decent driver.
could break into 14's w/ stripped interior and race-fuel on a good day (cool, sea level track etc...)

Neons are pretty fast but you should beat em by more, I have a civic si99 and I beat them by around 5 cars up to 150 kph 93 mph. 0-93mph beat em by 5 cars, my best friend has a neon so ive raced him a lot.

I believe that in 2001, they also had an 2.0 Liter SOHC Magnum, which had something like 150hp/137ft-lbs. bone stock.
If by chance he has one of those then I'd say you did pretty damn well. If he has the base SOHC engine, then what you said happened sounds just about right... :)
nice kill...
