Best hosting site???

Me and my band eventually want to start a website, but what is the best hosting site, im not that big im computers, but we would like to get a site started

its got so many features its not even funny especially for the money

i recommend, tripod.co.uk. They offer 50 megabytes, unlimited bandwidth, but they have a little advertisement on the side, but its amazing, it has Webftp, and MySQL and everything.

I like brinkster.com. They have a wide variety of options as well as the capabilities to do .NET development, in the case you want to do an intense page. Their free page is good for basic brochure type websites though.

If your serious about this and want people to take you seriously, I suggest you get a domain name and pay for hosting. The reason for this is people have the mentallity that you guys are just aren't serious enough to go the long term (unless you have a fairly large fan-base).

By the paid hosting and domain name it shows that you guys went the extra length to go for something and that you in for the long haul.

All these can be setup in the comfort of your own home too. Go to http://www.no-ip.com and get a domain name. You host the website on your pc and using your current internet connection (check your terms and condition of your ISP contract btw). Only thing now is a firewall as ppl can perform DOS or other services which will bring your site down.

Try using www.cyclophost.com - they are cheap and they even have easy web site building software with templates to use. All you do get the domain name, add photos and text to the templates and you got a first class site. Plus they have a way to submit your site to the search engines.
