Hello my name is kevin and Iam new here hopfully someone here can help me. I have an 88 ranger sc 4x4 with a 2.9 lliter v6 that has been to hell and back. i know i should just buy a new one but I love this truck. I rebuilt it after I got hit head on by a 92 dodge ram and everything was fine for almost two years. then one day after playing around in the mud I took it to the car wash and ran it threw. after the wash I drove the truck for at least 50 miles befor parking it and then the truck sat for mabe two weeks. when I whent out to drive the truck again it would not start. After checking everything I could think of I figured out that it was the fuel pumps. in the 88 there are two pumps one in the tank and one on the frame, neither work now. I jumped the pump on the frame and it ran and the truck started and ran long enough to get it in my garage but now that the fuel in the line is gone it wont start again. I have cecked the ignition modual and tryed to reset the inertia switch and neither worked. I also thought that it could be the fuel pump relay But I can't find the relay box its not under the hood. so now I am at a loss. I could I guess pull the tank and run a hot wire to the pump in the tank too but I would rather not jerry rig it. any help or sudjestiond are helpfull and greatly appriciated.
thanks Kev88ranger
