Im looking into a Mazda-6

I looked at the car and it looks sweet. I have a friend who has it also, and he loves his car. My concern is that since im not very familiar with Mazda, is tehre anything i should know about the company and its cars? Are its cars generally good or bad quality? Is the service generally good or bad? Do the cars last a while generally? Questions like that are what im looking for answers for. Thanks
EDIT: I'm a newbie when it comes to cars, as i have no experience with any high tech car parts. So please bear with me :)

I have a M6, the looks are great, the abitability is wonderfull, the trunk is huge; but if you are looking for performance, you might reconsider buying the M6; i have the M6 2.3L, it's more fun than performance, and at low rpm, the engine is almost dead;
But all in all, the M6 is ZOOM ZOOM...
